Healthcare Heroes began in 2006 with a two-fold purpose. At the time of its inception, there were no programs that recognized the outstanding work of our healthcare community. We also recognized that, while the state was facing a shortage of doctors and nurses, we were simultaneously facing a severe shortage of educators for healthcare professionals. We saw a way to combine these two purposes. Healthcare Heroes is a way to honor individuals who have done amazing things for healthcare in the Silver State and to provide much needed scholarship funds for students who are pursuing degrees in the healthcare field in Nevada.
