Boys & Girls Club Nevada Partners with DETR
The Nevada Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs has announced a partnership with the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) for workforce development. The partnership will support a statewide expansion of early learning centers and after school programs by engaging young adults, aged 18 to 24, in employment activities. The workforce development initiative is called Up Next Nevada and will support licensed childcare, after school enrichment and youth recreation to help address the childcare needs by providing more trained caregivers.
STEP2 Receives Grant to Support Mothers in Recovery
Step2, a Reno-based nonprofit treatment center for women battling substance use disorder, has received a $110,250 grant from the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation. The grant will support the BLOOM: Two Hearts, One Journey program which focuses on maternal health support for pregnant and parenting women recovering from substance use disorders. The three-year grant is expected to allow the nonprofit to serve approximately 300 women and address local disparities by improving maternal health outcomes, supporting long-term recovery and promoting lasting family stability.
Nevada Economic Developers Association Launched
A partnership between the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) and the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA), the Nevada Economic Developers Association (NEDA) is a statewide professional association created to strengthen and support economic development professionals in Nevada. NEDA will serve as a central resource for training, certification and professional development and will prepare future practitioners to support Nevada’s long-term economic growth. The association is also expected to provide education for government leaders, nonprofit partners and elected officials to ensure they are equipped to help attract businesses, support workforce development and encourage investment in communities statewide.

According to a new report from BrokerChooser, Nevada ranks among the top 10 most at-risk states for investment scams. In 2025 losses from scams in Nevada climbed to $40.4 million, up 20 percent from the previous year.
