The Las Vegas Aces presented a $24,000 check to the Public Education Foundation (PEF) during a pregame ceremony at their home game against the Chicago Sky, celebrating the team’s performance throughout the 2026 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup. PEF Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors Peter Guzman and Co-Presidents Latoya Holman and Jeff Wells received the check on-court and accepted the donation on behalf of the organization and the Clark County students and educators it serves.
The 2026 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup, held in honor of the league’s 30th season under the theme “Our Game, Our Legacy,” featured each team playing all conference opponents once during a two-week window, with games counting toward regular-season standings.
The donation reflects the Aces’ outstanding 6-1 record across Commissioner’s Cup play, generating $18,000 in win bonuses and $1,000 for their lone loss, plus an additional $5,000 awarded for their Championship game appearance, bringing the total contribution to $24,000 towards public education in alignment with CCSD.
When asked why the Las Vegas Aces selected PEF as their Commissioner’s Cup partner, President and General Manager Nikki Fargas shared, “They provide these young boys and young girls hope. They give them a place where they can feel safe, they give them a place and a program that allows them to succeed in life, and that’s why we felt as though you guys were the perfect partner for us.”
Through its longstanding partnership with the Clark County School District, PEF invests directly in scholarships, teacher development, and school resources to help ensure every public schools tudent in Clark County can succeed. PEF’s programs include Scholarships Plus, Teacher FastTrack, PEF Teacher Superstore, the Book Bus, and PEF Volunteers in Partnership.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Las Vegas Aces for uplifting public education throughout the Commissioner’s Cup. This $24,000 donation will make an incredible difference in the lives of Clark County students and the educators who serve them. When the Aces win, our community wins,” said PEF Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors Peter Guzman.
