Clark County Alerts on New Scam
Clark County recently sent an alert reminding Nevadans that the county clerk does not issue citations. This is in response to a fraudulent notice that some received requiring payment to the court. The notice reads “Failure to Appear” with a citation amount.
Land Lease for Children’s Hospital Finalized
Intermountain Health, The Gardner Group and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Research Foundation have signed a land lease for Nevada’s first standalone children’s hospital. One of the goals behind building the hospital is to attract specialists from various fields to Nevada. The site is located at UNLV’s Harry Reid Research and Technology 122-acre park. The project is expected to break ground early next year and open by 2030. It will have over 200 beds.
Novva Tahoe Reno Launches
Novva Data Centers has launched a 300,000 square foot, 60 megawatt data center in Storey County. The 20-acre campus, known as Novva Tahoe Reno, is located in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC). The facility was built with renewable energy credits in mind and uses water-free and direct-to-chip cooling as well as radiant cooling and heating in the offices.
The 1864 Fund Makes Its First Investment
A Nevada-based seed stage venture capital fund has made its first investment. Called the 1864 Fund, it is a $10 million venture capital fund launched to invest in highly scalable startups with at least $500,000 in sales in the western region of the United States. In early July, the 1864 Fund made its first lead investment to Lucihub, a Las Vegas-based next-generation video production platform. The fund is a result of economic development efforts like those of StartUpNV which support the growth of Nevada’s startup ecosystem.
