Clark County Commission Allocates ARPA Funds for Business Incubator Program
Last month, the Clark County Commission voted to approve $600,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in support of a new business incubator program, Incubate Vegas. The program was developed by the Clark County Office of Community and Economic Development in partnership with StartUPNV. The program is designed to promote the inclusion of underserved populations in Clark County and foster diversification. Incubate Vegas is expected to launch this spring.
Federal Program Brings Assistance to Rural Communities
The Moapa Valley Community and Southern Clark County Community networks have been selected as two of only 22 rural regions nationwide to be added to the Rural Partners Network (RPN). The RPN is a government program that partners with rural communities to provide access to resources and funding with the goal of creating local jobs, building infrastructure and supporting long-term economic stability on their own terms.
nZero Named Among Best Inventions
Reno-based nZero, was named to TIME’s annual “Best Inventions” list in the sustainability category. The near real time carbon data and sustainability platform tracks and operationalizes energy, financial and greenhouse gas emissions data to help organizations reach climate change goals. The list is comprised of 200 innovations (and 50 special mention inventions) that are evaluated on a number of key factors including originality, efficacy, ambition and impact.
