Nevada State Contractors Board Levies Severe Consequences Against Solar Company
The Nevada State Contractors Board (NCSB) has taken action against Solarize. The solar company has had its license revoked and company leadership has been banned from working as contractors in Nevada moving forward. NSCB has also imposed the maximum possible fine of $460,000 for charges which include abandonment, diversion of funds, workmanship issues, failing to provide documents and failing to corporate with an investigation. The company was brought to the attention of the board by multiple complaints and what the prosecutor in this case referred to as “flagrant behavior” which resulted in harm caused to 13 homeowners. Administrative Law Judge Richard Scotti in his ruling said, “I’m going to find that they have caused extensive massive harm to homeowners and remain a continued public danger.
HealthHIE Nevada Partners with Veteran’s Organizations to Enhance Access to Care
A statewide health information exchange HealthHIE Nevada (HIE) has partnered with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) to enhance access to care for active-duty military and veterans. HIE provides a secure network to connect Nevada providers’ electronic health records (EHRs). The partnership will make clinical information including laboratory results, medications and discharge information available for both patients and providers. Without a connection, patients are required to collect and transport paper records.
Sphere Entertainment Acquires HOLOPLOT
Completing its acquisition of remaining shares, Sphere Entertainment Co. has announced HOLOPLOT is now a wholly owned subsidiary. HOLOPLOT innovated 3D audio with proprietary technology and Sphere’s acquisition of the Berlin-based company began in 2018. The company focuses on sound control to transform how audio is delivered resulting in targeted, consistent and immersive listening experiences for audiences.
Partnership for Homeless Youth Awarded Federal Grant
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) has been awarded an $800,000 federal grant to help Nevada youth experiencing homelessness. NPHY plans to use the funds to create a statewide plan to end youth homelessness. The federal monies are part of $51 million set aside from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) grants.
