Patent covers a mobile-device-based system that delivers visual stimulation and wirelessly records ocular electrophysiological responses
Henderson, Nevada, USA EVOQ Technologies today announced the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 12,685,439, titled “Electrophysiological Stimulator and Evoked Response System and Method.”
The patent covers a system in which an Android or iOS mobile device provides controlled luminous stimulation directly to a patient’s eye. A connected biosensor records ocular electrical signals and wirelessly transmits the results to the mobile device for waveform display and evaluation of retinal function.
The patent protects a defined mobile architecture for stimulating the eye, acquiring ocular electrophysiological signals through a wireless biosensor, and evaluating retinal function.
“Our technology goes beyond monitoring vital signs,” said Daniel Lindgren, founder and inventor at EVOQ Technologies. “It stress tests critical functions of the body to precisely measure neural-ocular circuitry performance.”
Unlike passive digital-health technologies that primarily observe ongoing activity, the patented device actively stimulates the visual system and records its electrophysiological response. “This patent supports our vision of making ocular and retinal functional testing more portable, connected and accessible,” said Kasia Hein-Peters, MD, CEO of EVOQ Technologies. “Our immediate focus is vision, where objective functional measurements can complement structural imaging and help researchers better understand retinal performance.”
EVOQ is seeking strategic partnerships and licensing opportunities related to portable retinal electrophysiology, including the patented system, functional vision assessment, and clinical research.
