How did you get into your profession?

I purchased Seniors Helping Seniors after my wife retired from a very successful teaching career.

What is an issue currently facing your industry that an outside observer might not be aware of?

The amount of seniors that need help in this country is growing at an amazing rate. According to the Census Bureau, the number of Americans ages 65+ is expected to increase from 58 million in 2022 to 73 million by 2030.

What career advice would you give to someone just starting in your industry?

I would advise them to constantly stay busy promoting their business and always answer the phone.

How do you motivate your team?

I am always available for any kind of help that they might need. I focus on open communication and recognition. I ensure my team feels heard by holding regular check-ins and fostering an environment where their input is valued.

What workplace event or project are you looking forward to?

We are very passionate about working with the VA and helping as many veterans as possible.

What is the best moment of your career?

The best moment of my current career would have to be the knowledge that everything we do trickles down to making somebody’s day a little better.

Who is a leader that you look up to?

I look up to a man named Capt. Charlie Plumb. He has shaped my thoughts and my ability to roll with the punches. He is a U.S. Navy Veteran who is a distinguished fighter pilot that served in the Vietnam War and was taken as a POW for 6 years before being repatriated.

What is an assumption people make about you that is dead wrong?

I would say that people may assume that I have no stress in my life. I have a very easy way of working with stress, but it still exists and is ever present with any situation in life. I just have a way of rolling with the punches and making the best of any situation.
