Foundation Assisting Seniors (FAS), a reputable nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the senior and veteran community in the Las Vegas Valley since 2002, is excited to announce the launch of its latest initiative, the Pet Foster Program. This program marks a significant expansion of services to include the care of beloved dogs belonging to seniors and veterans who find themselves in temporary need of assistance. The program provides up to 30 days of 24-hour care, feeding, exercise, and, most importantly, love.
“Our mission has always been to provide assistance and support to our senior and veteran community,” said Carol Chapman, president & CEO of Foundation Assisting Seniors. “We believe that this expansion to include dog care is a natural extension of that commitment. Dogs bring immense joy and comfort to their owners, and we want to ensure that they remain together during difficult times while also having a haven for them to go to when they can’t. We look forward to taking on this new service while further impacting the lives of those who need a helping hand.”
FAS volunteers serve as the lifeline of the Foundation and the Pet Foster Program. Once vetted, volunteers will take the dogs into their own homes, ensuring that all dogs remain in a caring and safe environment while their owners are temporarily away. FAS encourages volunteers to step forward and join its cause in making a positive impact on the lives of seniors, veterans and their pets.
