How did you get into your profession?
A friend who was an attorney asked for help reviewing documents. As we worked together on her cases, she saw something in me I hadn’t yet seen in myself. She encouraged me to apply to law school and gave me the confidence to believe I could succeed as an attorney.
What career advice would you give to someone just starting in your industry?
Show up, meet people, listen for ways to help, and become an expert in your chosen area of practice.
What is your favorite business book?
The Art of War provides many insights into life and business as well as war. One of the most important insights from this book is the greatest victory is one that requires no battle. In business, the best outcomes often come through negotiation, partnerships, or innovation—not confrontation. Another key principle from the Art of War is adaptability. Businesses must stay flexible to respond to change, client needs and disruptions.

What is the best moment of your career?
The most meaningful moments in my career have been the humbling recognition of my work from peers and clients. They remind me of a friend’s words years ago—that I was meant to be an attorney and had what it takes to succeed. Now, after 30 years of practice in Las Vegas, I’m still grateful for her encouragement.
Just as rewarding are the moments I witness a young attorney I’ve mentored achieve their first big success for a client. I’m thankful for the chance to support the next generation of Nevada construction law attorneys.
What was the most difficult experience you encountered as a leader?
Helping my team, those I mentor and my students, understand that the practice of law is not just a job, but a profession, has been one of the most challenging aspects of leadership within my firm—and across the legal industry. A job is something you show up to for a paycheck; a profession carries a deeper responsibility. Being a lawyer means holding ourselves to a higher standard of ethics, diligence, and service. It requires lifelong learning, thoughtful analysis, and a genuine commitment to clients and the rule of law.
