M&A Business Advisors
Type of Business: Business Brokerage & M&A Advisory Firm | Hails from: Richmond, Virginia | 1 year with company in Nevada | Based in: Reno, NV
What was your first job?
Working the register at the gift shop at the Ormsby House in Carson City.
Who in your life has been instrumental to your success?
My grandparents, Woody & Helen Loftin were great entrepreneurs. I am so lucky they taught me so much about business at a very young age.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
Driven. [The meaning is] two-fold – I race cars and am driven in my career.
What is the best moment of your career?
Now! I’m so excited for our new venture, M&A Business Advisors in Nevada & California. We are honored to have the best brokers in the business guiding our clients though one of the most important transactions of their lives.
What career advice would you give to your teenage self?
There is so much!! I started my first business when I was 18 and made a ton of mistakes but if I have to reduce it to a few things I would say my two favorite rules come from Dale Carnegie: “Count your blessings, not your troubles,” and “Don’t criticize, condemn or complain.”
What is an issue currently facing your industry an outside observer might not be aware of?
There are a lot of out-of-state brokers coming into the state who are not licensed business brokers and many people are unaware of the risk this creates. It’s important to use a licensed broker familiar with the laws and customs of our state to reduce liability both on the part of the buyer and seller.
What is your motto?
Work hard, play hard.
If you had to live in another country for a year, which would you choose and why?
Greece. I am half Greek and the people and culture there are so amazing. They have been through so much yet they are resilient and find balance in life. I think I could learn a lot from living there.
If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be and what would you have?
Michael Corleone from “The Godfather”. I would order a nice Chianti and risotto.
What do you want your legacy to be?
[I want to] help people realize the American dream and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
What is your favorite thing about living in Nevada?
The people.
