| LAS VEGAS and RENO, NEV. – In accordance with Senate Bill 318 (2021 Legislative Session) and Title VI, the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) has implemented a Language Access Plan (LAP) to ensure meaningful access to its programs and services for individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP).
As part of this initiative, the NSCB continues to provide qualified interpreter services at no cost and is identifying vital information and documents to make available in multiple languages. The Language Access Plan, available on the Board’s website, establishes guidelines and procedures for staff when interacting with the public and outlines reporting requirements to help measure the program’s effectiveness. The Board reports on its Language Access Plan implementation and community outreach efforts, including the number and types of oral and sign language interpretation services provided, the languages supported, and employee training and resources related to language access and cultural competency. As part of the program’s rollout, the NSCB is seeking public feedback during a 30-day comment period.
