Local entertainment professional brings fresh ideas and leadership to Las Vegas’ hot new dinosaur-themed interactive time-travel experience
Alex Kuehn is now the Director of Entertainment at Dinosaur Outpost, 6569 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Suite 173, at Town Square in Las Vegas. In his role, Kuehn trains and guides team members – called Rangers – to help them create a one-of-a-kind experience for Dinosaur Outpost guests. Kuehn also develops time travel storylines for Rangers and works with upper management to provide input on new attractions and experiences.
Dinosaur Outpost opened in late April and has been a hit among local and visiting families in Las Vegas. Kuehn, 25, has had a hand in developing the realistic look and feel of the experience. Dinosaur Outpost takes visitors back in time to interact with life-size dinosaurs they can interact and engage with.
“Alex has been crucial to our early success. We’ve hosted thousands of visitors in our first month and couldn’t have done it without him,” said Tim Clothier, founder of Dinosaur Outpost. “He’s very creative and is easy to work with, and seeks every opportunity to make Dinosaur Outpost better for our guests.”
Prior to Dinosaur Outpost, Kuehn was a performer on more than 200 episodes of the BattleBots Las Vegas live TV show. He has also performed on the ComedySportz Las Vegas show for the past five years. The Minneapolis, MN native came to Southern Nevada 10 years ago and “fell into” the local entertainment industry after taking theater classes and learning some improv basics.
“My entire background is in family entertainment here in Las Vegas,” Kuehn said. “When it comes to entertainment, a lot of people only think of the Strip and adult-exclusive things, but Vegas is a big city that has a ton of families and I love seeing what people do to encourage locals and families to experience different things. When I first met Tim, I bought into his vision for Dinosaur Outpost right away.”
