The Better Business Bureau of Southern Nevada (BBB) is inviting the community to protect themselves from identity theft at its 14th Annual Secure Your ID Day on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at BBB headquarters, 6040 S. Jones Blvd. This free community event provides residents a safe and secure way to dispose of sensitive personal documents, helping reduce the risk of identity theft and fraud.
Participants can bring up to four boxes of paper documents for free, with additional boxes accepted for $10 each. Shredding services will be provided onsite by BBB Accredited Business Assured Document Destruction.
“This event is an easy but important step people can take to protect their personal information,” said George Cartwright, President of BBB Southern Nevada. “Identity theft continues to be a major concern, and securely disposing of old documents is one of the best ways to stay ahead of scammers.”
To ensure a smooth and safe experience, attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles at all times. Documents will be collected and shredded onsite, with no public viewing of the shredding process. Please note that only paper materials will be accepted.
The event will run until noon or until the shredding trucks reach capacity.
