Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada offers a great option for kids and teens about what to do during summer break from school. Known for its before and after school programs, the nonprofit organization’s Summer Program combines the fun of “summer camp” with its mission for youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. It’s also a great solution for parents – particularly those who work – with day-long activities at 13 Clubs throughout Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas.
The Summer Program is scheduled from Monday, May 22, through Thursday, Aug. 3, and hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Clubs offer early drop-offs, late pickups, and convenient locations. Registration is available now and can be done at any time through August 3.
Age-appropriate programming includes games, sports and fitness, arts and music, video games, computer labs, field trips, and activities designed around designated themes at each Club. Themes include Cruising Through Summer, Animation, and Cartoons. There also will be special teen nights and summer jobs and workforce development programs for teenagers at the Clubs.
Annual membership is required to attend with memberships priced affordably at $35 for youth (ages 6-12) and just $20 for teens (ages 13-18). The Summer Program is competitively priced at $80 per week for kids (ages 6-12), and teens can attend for free with an annual membership. Both breakfast and lunch are included in the cost, and financial aid is available for qualifying families.
“Our Boys & Girls Clubs team understands today’s youth, and we make summer fun for them,” said Andy Bischel, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada President and CEO. “We offer varied programming and unique opportunities, and our Summer Program is affordable, accessible, and stress-free for parents, especially those who work. Parents also appreciate that their children will be in a safe environment supervised by caring and professional staff.”
