SPARKS, Nev. — C&G Franchise Development’s Nevada-based corporation, BPL Supplies, is excited to announce the newest featured nonprofit organization, Communities In Schools (CIS) of Western Nevada.
Communities In Schools (CIS) of Nevada is the fifth largest state office of the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization. Working with schools and the community, CIS of Nevada does whatever it takes to help disadvantaged students stay in school and succeed in life. Based directly inside schools, CIS site coordinators identify each student’s specific needs and connect them and their families to basic and critical educational and community-based resources.
In addition to providing group and one-on-one case management to students, CIS of Western Nevada provides resources to students and their families including food, clothing, transportation, school supplies and hygiene products. During the 2020-2021 school year, CIS of Western Nevada provided over $200,000 to students and families in need.
Thanks to these efforts, CIS has consistently demonstrated higher graduation rates compared to statewide rates. CIS of Western Nevada’s graduation rate of case managed students for the 2021-2022 school year was 96 percent compared to Nevada’s reported 81.3 percent.
Money raised from the K&K Grimm Fund will go towards continuing CIS of Western Nevada’s mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life by providing site coordinators with the budget to replenish school supplies, provide clothes and uniforms and celebrate milestone achievements like perfect attendance or improvement of grades to encourage students to continue their education.
“We can’t thank Klaus and Kristin enough for the wonderful support they’ve provided us,” said Nicole Willis-Grimes, Executive Director of CIS of Western Nevada. “The K&K Grimm Fund will go a long way in helping out at-risk students in the Washoe County School District, our site coordinators and future projects we have planned. Our goal is to ensure the nearly 9,000 students enrolled in Title I schools have a chance to graduate and better themselves, and opportunities like this will help us accomplish that.”

BPL Supplies was founded in 2021 when owners John Choi and Klaus Grimm saw a need in the community for a local product company with extensive buying power, which in turn keeps costs down for customers.
