Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), a full-service environmental consulting firm with over 35 years of experience offering environmental, engineering, and water resource services is pleased to announce its $12,500 donation to support two Reno-based nonprofits: Women and Children’s Center of the Sierra (WACCS) and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB). Each organization received $6,250 to advance their missions of community service, empowerment, and environmental stewardship.
“Giving back to the communities where we live and work is at the core of who we are at Broadbent,” said Matt Herrick, principal hydrogeologist and Reno division manager at Broadbent. “We are honored to partner with organizations like WACCS and KTMB, whose efforts improve the lives of individuals and families across Northern Nevada while fostering a stronger, healthier, and cleaner community.”
The Women and Children’s Center of the Sierra provides essential support services to women and their children as they work to overcome poverty. Offering resources like educational classes, life skills training, a diaper bank, and job search assistance, WACCS tailors its programs to meet the unique needs of its clients, all free of charge.
“We are incredibly thankful for Broadbent’s generous donation, which will have a direct and meaningful impact on the families we serve,” said Junella Zuniga, executive director at the Women and Children’s Center of the Sierra. “For many mothers, the struggle to provide essentials like diapers and food can be overwhelming. This support helps lift that weight, offering hope, stability, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. Contributions like this truly change lives for women and children in our community.”
Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful has been a community staple since 1989, dedicated to keeping Reno and the surrounding areas clean and beautiful. Through education programs, cleanup events, and community engagement initiatives, KTMB inspires residents to take pride in the environment.
“We are grateful for this generous donation from Broadbent and Associates, which helps us secure dumpsters, keep up our tool supply, and make sure our amazing volunteers are equipped to help us keep the Truckee Meadows beautiful,” said Darcy Phillips, executive director at Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful.
