Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), a full-service environmental, water resource, and civil engineering firm, is pleased to announce its recent donations to two Las Vegas-based nonprofits that are making a significant difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Over $12,000 in contributions were made to Families for Effective Autism Treatment of Southern Nevada (FEAT) and Sunshine Nevada Organization, both of which provide invaluable programs and services tailored to the needs of the autism community.
“Giving back to the communities where we live and work is a big part of who we are at Broadbent,” said Kirk Stowers, principal geologist and environmental division manager at Broadbent & Associates. “Supporting organizations like FEAT and Sunshine Nevada Organization aligns with our core values and belief in making a meaningful impact. These nonprofits provide programs that make a difference for children with autism and their families, and we are honored to contribute to their missions.”
“FEAT of Southern Nevada is thrilled to receive this generous donation in support of our Parents Night Out program from Broadbent and their team,” said Jennifer Strobel, executive director of Families for Effective Autism Treatment. “Their donation helps FEAT provide a much-needed respite program for parents needing a break. This program provides four hours of supervision for kids with autism and their siblings that include food, games, crafts, rock wall, sports, sensory toys, movies, karaoke, and friends. While the kids are having fun, parents and caregivers can take the opportunity to go to dinner, catch a movie, and relax. It’s a win-win for everyone. We are extremely grateful for the support and look forward to a continued partnership with Broadbent for years to come.”
Sunshine Nevada Organization, which hosts traditional summer camps for children with autism, was also a recipient of Broadbent’s donation.
“Our mission is to provide children with autism a traditional summer camp experience filled with singing, dancing, laughter, and love, said Christopher Bache, president of Sunshine Nevada Organization. “Our camps inspire personal growth, build confidence, and foster lifelong friendships. However, none of this would be possible without the generous support of sponsors like Broadbent & Associates. Broadbent is not only helping to change these beautiful campers lives but also positively impacting their families and the community as a whole.”
