Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), an environmental consulting firm with multidisciplinary expertise and over 35 years of experience providing environmental, engineering, and water resource services, is proud to announce the promotion of Matt Herrick, PG, CHG, CEM, to director of operations. Herrick previously served as principal hydrogeologist and division manager, overseeing Broadbent’s Reno and Elko offices. In this executive role, Herrick will lead the company’s operational strategy, streamline internal systems, and help drive the organization’s continued growth and cross-divisional collaboration.
Herrick brings more than two decades of experience with Broadbent to this position, having joined the firm in 2001. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics and a Master of Science in Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Reno. As director of operations, he is charged with enhancing companywide efficiency, fostering alignment with strategic objectives, and advancing employee and client satisfaction through leadership grounded in communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement. He will be traveling regularly to Broadbent’s various office locations to promote cohesion and support throughout the organization.

Beyond his professional credentials, Herrick is known for his passion for lifelong learning and mentorship. He is a Board Trustee with the Nevada Water Resources Association (NWRA) and a member of both the Nevada Petroleum and Geothermal Society and Vistage, a peer advisory group for business leaders. A finalist for the 2024 and 2025 Vistage Impact Award, Herrick is dedicated to creating meaningful contributions that positively impact the people and communities around him. When not at work, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends and can often be found outdoors—preferably in the mountains or on the water.
