Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), a full-service environmental consulting firm with over 35 years of experience offering environmental, engineering, and water resource services, is pleased to announce it’s sponsorship of staff engineer, Lindey Smith, as she and her family prepare to compete in the 2025 NORRA Mexican 1000. The 1,000-mile off-road race, running from April 26 to May 1, will take competitors through the challenging terrain of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.
Lindey, who splits her time between Reno and Elko, will race alongside her father and sisters in a 1973 Sandmaster Panzer, a family heirloom that has been in their possession for over 50 years and sat untouched for 30 years. As one of the few women competing in the event, Lindey represents a growing movement of female racers breaking barriers in motorsports. Broadbent’s sponsorship has helped provide crucial safety gear and equipment, ensuring that Lindey and her team are ready to take on this demanding challenge.

The race will begin in Ensenada, Mexico, and take competitors through San Felipe, Bahía de Los Ángeles, San Ignacio, Loreto, La Paz, and ultimately finish in San José del Cabo. As the event approaches, Broadbent invites the community to follow Lindey’s journey and show their support by cheering on Smitty Racing through social media and local coverage.
