Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), a full-service environmental consulting firm with over 35 years of experience offering environmental, engineering, and water resource services, is proud to announce the addition of Matthew Johns as project historian. Based in Las Vegas, Johns will support Broadbent’s expanding cultural resources team with responsibilities that include conducting primary and secondary research, preparing detailed historic contexts, assisting with fieldwork, and contributing to publications and community outreach.
Mr. Johns holds a Master of Arts in History from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and has professional experience with Kautz Environmental Consultants, the Neon Museum, and the Las Vegas Justice Courthouse. Johns is an active member of the National Council on Public History and volunteers with the Nevada Preservation Foundation, Three Square, and Lake Mead clean-up initiatives.

In his new role, Johns will collaborate closely with Broadbent’s cultural resources professionals, including teams in Reno, Denver, and Phoenix. His addition enhances the firm’s ability to deliver comprehensive services in architectural history, anthropology, archaeology, and historic preservation.
