The Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV) will present its 18th annual CALV Educational Symposium Sept. 25 at the Las Vegas REALTORS® building, featuring education for local real estate professionals, an expert panel discussion on the issue of federally owned land in Nevada and an economic presentation from Brian Gordon, of Applied Analysis.
CALV is hosting the symposium from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the LVR building at 6360 S. Rainbow Blvd. The event offers two continuing education courses for real estate professionals and appraisers, with each course offering three CE credits to Nevada real estate licensees who attend.
The morning session is titled “Land in Limbo – the Federal Footprint and Southern Nevada’s Development Path” and offers three general CE credits.It features a presentation from Shawn McCoy, director of the Lied Center for Real Estate at UNLV, followed by an expert panel discussion on federal lands issues. Panelists include Mike Ford, co-owner of Las Vegas-based public lands consulting firm Abbey, Stubbs & Ford; Marci Henson, director of Clark County’s Department of Environment and Sustainability; and Clark County Commissioner James B. Gibson. Las Vegas attorney Jamie Thalgott, of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, will moderate the discussion.
The afternoon session offers three law CE credits and will focus on the “2025 Legislative Session: Outcomes for Real Estate,” with instructors Joe Brezny, director of political operations for Carrara Nevada, and Jamie Rodriguez, government affairs director for Nevada REALTORS®.

All-day admission is $99 for members of CALV or affiliated local organizations, including the local chapters of the Appraisal Institute (AI); BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association); CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member); CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women); IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management); the Lied Center; NAIOP Southern Nevada; and the Nevada State Apartment Association (NVSAA). Admission is $149 for others. Breakfast and lunch are included in the price of admission.
