RENO, Nev. – Reno’s only celebrity chef-owned restaurant, Charlie Palmer Steak Reno at Grand Sierra Resort (GSR), invites guests to celebrate spring with a tantalizing five-course dinner and wine pairing inspired by the season on Saturday, March 4 starting at 6 p.m. in the Reno Ballroom.
Following a cocktail hour, guests will begin with smoked king salmon and Dungeness crab served with a delicious blood orange sauce, marble potatoes and a smooth chive cream, paired with a Bread and Butter Prosecco from Italy. The second course will feature a dandelion and pea shoot panzanella salad made with mouthwatering duck prosciutto, heirloom carrot and dressed in a shallot vinaigrette, accompanied by a 2014 Monsanto Chianti from Italy.
Next, guests will enjoy a flavorful asparagus lasagna made with fresh pea pesto, Grana Padano cheese and chive blossoms, paired with a 2020 Boen Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley, California. The main course will feature a perfect char-grilled black angus filet mignon served with a rich chanterelle mushroom pea ragout and caramelized sunchokes, paired with a 2019 Matanzas Creek Merlot from Sonoma California.
For dessert, guests will enjoy a delectable roasted rhubarb pavlova made with honey-orange roasted rhubarb and topped with whipped vanilla bean white chocolate and candied almonds served alongside luscious strawberry ice cream. Guests will also enjoy a selection of handcrafted chocolates and mignardise to end the night.
Chef Charlie Palmer will host this memorable event and guests will also receive a signed cookbook from the award-winning chef as a special gift.
