Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas (CASLV), a leading charter school in southern Nevada with STEM focused education, is pleased to announce the charitable donation of two Sectra Tables from the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. The Sectra Tables, which feature a large 65” monitor with QLED technology, will enhance student learning by offering an immersive touch screen that improves the sense of interaction with visualized data. Each screen will be used in a CASLV science class at two separate campuses and when purchased new are valued at over $90,000 each.

We believe these additional learning tools will be incredibly beneficial for our students and serve as a reference point to visualize and interact with science in new ways. The CASLV Sandy Ridge campus intends to use the Sectra Table in their PLTW Human Body Systems course which requires the high school students to build different models of the systems within the human body. The interactive device will be used as a reference point for students to visualize the different layers of tissues and organs as they build their models. The Sectra Table at CASLV’s Cadence campus will be used in an anatomy class as students study the human brain.
