LAS VEGAS, February 1, 2023 – Cox Communications is expanding its service offerings at Lake Las Vegas through the acquisition of network assets in the community from Cable Systems of Nevada LLC. The purchase of the assets closed in December 2022. The current owners of Cable Systems and Cox will be working together to notify and transition the current customers.
In 2021, Cox began providing broadband services to residents on the north shore of the community and will soon be expanding to additional residents in Lake Las Vegas through this acquisition. This effort is part of a broader multibillion-dollar infrastructure investment over the next several years to deliver a residential 10 gigabit-capable, fiber-based network that will power the next generation of internet users.
“We’ve heard from the residents of Lake Las Vegas for years as they hoped for an expansion of our footprint to include the community,” said Cox Las Vegas Market Vice President Janet Uthman. “Through this acquisition, we’re able to utilize existing infrastructure to offer our services where available. We are also looking at opportunities to expand our fiber network to reach additional residential areas and businesses in the Lake Las Vegas community.”
In January, Cox began engineering, construction design and necessary permitting for this fiber-based network and working with Henderson and Clark County agencies to obtain necessary approvals. Residents of Lake Las Vegas can visit https://www.cox.com/getfiber to express interest in Cox services.
