A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the College of Southern Nevada Blackstone LaunchPad Entrepreneurship Center & NV Grow Small Business Expo will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the CSN North Las Vegas Campus inside the June Whitley Student Lounge, 3200 East Cheyenne Avenue, North Las Vegas NV 89030. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the ribbon cutting set for 11:30 a.m.
This event will also serve as the opportunity for U.S. Rep. Steven Horsford to recognize the college as one of the grant recipients of the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Capital Readiness Program Grant. In total, CSN will receive approximately $3 million over the next four years, which will go toward the Silver State Capital Readiness Consortium (SSCRC). Comprising three SEDI-serving organizations, CSN Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development (SBED), Access Community Capital, and the Urban Chamber of Commerce, the SSCRC will deliver a combination service model of both incubator and accelerator services for SEDI-owned businesses.
Distinguished individuals representing various organizations are scheduled to be present at the event. Those who have confirmed their attendance include:
– The Blackstone Foundation
– US Congressman Steven Horsford’s Office
– Nevada State Senator Dina Neal’s Office
– The Urban Chamber of Commerce
– Access Community Capital Inc.
– Henderson Chamber of Commerce
– City of Las Vegas
This event will highlight CSN’s commitment to assisting both small business owners and student entrepreneurs. The overarching objective of the SBED division of the college is to foster the growth and success of these individuals by offering them valuable guidance, resources, and mentorship.
