LAS VEGAS – June 7, 2026 – Cure 4 The Kids Foundation (C4K) recently unveiled a new themed exam room designed to transform routine medical visits into an exciting journey through the galaxy.
Made possible through a generous donation from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Nevada, the immersive space-themed design transports young patients into another world — one filled with planets, spaceships, alien characters and more. An interactive element invites patients to search for nine unique symbols hidden within the mural, along with 12 star constellations. The activity serves a meaningful purpose beyond entertainment, helping to ease anxiety while patients wait for medical staff.
“A themed exam room can absolutely change the perspective of a patient who might be anxious about their visit,” said Annette Logan-Parker, Founder and Chief Advocacy and Innovation Officer. “With help from many sponsors including Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield , we have been able to transform nearly all of our exam rooms into unique, themed experiences. It has made a remarkable impact for all our patients.”
“When children walk into a healthcare setting, they should feel cared for in every sense of the word,” said Joy Thomas, President of Government Business for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Nevada. “By supporting this new space-themed exam room, we hope to create moments of joy, curiosity, and comfort for young patients receiving treatment. We are proud to support Cure 4 The Kids Foundation’s mission and the extraordinary care they provide to children and families across Nevada.”
Children battling cancer and rare diseases often visit the clinic multiple times per week for appointments that include blood draws, follow-up exams and chemotherapy treatments. Themed exam rooms help turn these routine visits into something memorable — and help ease any fears about returning.
