35 De Castroverde employees running to raise funds for Latinos pursuing a legal education
Las Vegas, Nev. — De Castroverde Law Group, a personal injury and immigration law firm with offices in Las Vegas and Reno, is supporting the sixth annual ¡Ándale! 5K Fundraiser via sponsorship and staff participation in the event on September 28, 2024, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex.
The sixth annual ¡Ándale! 5K Fundraiser, hosted by The ¡Ándale! Foundation, a new 501c3 nonprofit, in collaboration with the Nevada Latino Bar Association, is a scholarship fundraising event, raising funds for the ¡Ándale! Scholarship. This scholarship helps prospective Latino students pay for LSAT fees and preparation courses, increasing Hispanic representation in the legal industry.
“By coming together, we can inspire the next generation of Hispanic legal professionals and ensure that our communities are represented and empowered,” said Orlando De Castroverde, founder of De Castroverde Law Group. “A more diverse legal field strengthens public confidence in our judicial system.”
Beyond sponsorship, De Castroverde Law Group prioritizes direct participation in the events and causes they support. 35 members of the De Castroverde team will be running in the ¡Ándale! 5K, raising crucial funds for future Latino law school students.
“Less than six percent of the legal professionals are Hispanic,” said Ryan Samano, personal injury attorney at De Castroverde Law Group and ¡Ándale! 5K co-director. “Our goal here has always been to remove that first barrier — LSAT-related financial restraints — that stop so many from pursuing their legal education. Through discussions with various education professionals, the LBA learned that a significant barrier for many Latinos who wish to pursue a legal education is the cost of an LSAT preparation course.
