Dragon Lights Festival Tickets on Sale June 1

(June 1, 2023 – Reno, Nev.) – Tickets for the Dragon Lights Festival, presented by Greater Nevada Credit Union, will go on sale June 1, 2023 and can be purchased by visiting the website at https://dragonlightsreno.org The festival will run June 30 through August 13 every evening from 6-10:30 pm at Reno’s Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Gardens within Rancho San Rafael Park for six weeks this summer.
The theme for this year’s event, Nature’s Glow, will feature more than 40 new vibrant lantern sculptures, made of steel, fabric and thousands of LED lights, will transform the arboretum into an illuminous wonderland during Reno’s mid-summer nights. The iconic Chinese dragon will be returning in a whole new form while the rest of the garden will be occupied by glowing mini beasts – dragonflies, beetles, mantis, bees and many more. Also returning to Dragon Lights Reno this year is an expanded interactive playground that invites visitors to touch, interact with, and even climb on the lantern displays.
New this year is an audio guide that can be accessed through a mobile phone for those who are sight impaired or wish to learn more about the cultural aspects, design and fabrication of the lanterns.
“We are excited to be back in Reno this summer with all new lanterns that celebrate Asian culture and biodiversity in the garden,” said Huiyuan Liu, event manager for Tianyu Arts & Culture. “This year we’re introducing our audio guide that will provide additional information as well as detailed descriptions of the lanterns for those who wish to learn more or are sight impaired and want to imagine the vibrancy of the colors, texture of the fabrics and design of the lanterns that make this festival so unique.”
The Dragon Lights Festival is offering an early bird discount of $5 on general admission tickets purchased from June 1-15 using the code EARLYBIRD. Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets for a specific night at dragonlightsreno.org
