Edmentum, a leading provider of online learning solutions, today donated a collection of new children’s books and $2,500 to support the Clark County School District (CCSD) Book Bus, helping build home libraries and foster a love of reading for students across Southern Nevada.
The donation was presented during Edmentum’s annual conference at Resorts World Las Vegas in the Lily Ballroom, with representatives from CCSD and The Public Education Foundation (PEF) on hand for the check presentation.
Through its philanthropic arm, We Can Learn, Edmentum is helping expand the impact of the Book Bus, which is dedicated to increasing literacy and putting high-quality books directly into the hands of students and families. Founded in 2018, We Can Learn is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on removing barriers and improving equitable access to teaching and learning.
The CCSD Book Bus is a collaborative effort between CCSD’s Engagement Unit and The Public Education Foundation. Since its launch, the Book Bus has placed more than 200,000 books into the hands of local students from ages 0–18. The mobile library offers titles for every grade level, including bilingual books in English and Spanish, to help families build home libraries and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Edmentum’s contribution of books and funding will help the Book Bus purchase additional titles and reach even more students in neighborhoods across the valley.
