Green Our Planet, the nation’s leading nonprofit in school garden and hydroponics programs, will host the largest student-run farmers market in the country on Thursday, October 16 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center.
As the nonprofit organization continues to grow, the Giant Student Farmers Market continues to be a cornerstone for highlighting Green Our Planet’s commitment to experiential education, sustainability and student empowerment. The 12th annual Fall Giant Student Farmers Market will feature participation from 40 CCSD schools, offering student-grown produce and handmade crafts created by more than 400 students, with all proceeds to be reinvested into the school garden programs.
“Each year, we are thrilled to see how the annual student farmers market turns students into ‘Farmpreneurs’ through the school garden and hydroponics programs that provide them with essential tools to learn financial literacy, business and customer service skills,” said Ciara Byrne, CEO of Green Our Planet. “Through the interactive lessons, students gain hands-on experience of how to grow their own produce, how to create profit and loss sheets and how to effectively promote their products at the market.”
The Fall 2025 Student Farmers Market commemorates Green Our Planet’s dedication to providing students Pre-K through 12 with hands-on lessons that teach STEM, nutrition, sustainability, conservation and financial literacy. The school garden and hydroponic programs support students’ early development and enhance their learning capabilities through real-world applications that make academic concepts tangible, engaging and relevant to their everyday lives. Teachers are equipped with a curriculum that trains them on how to integrate hydroponics and outdoor gardens into hands-on lessons, further supporting student engagement.
The Green Our Planet Fall 2025 Giant Student-run Farmers Market is proud to be hosted in partnership with Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick who will be a leading sponsor of the event, following her continuous support of the market and the nonprofit’s overall mission. Her continued dedication to sustainability and education make her a cornerstone of this event. This year’s farmers market is also proud to be sponsored by FORMULA 1 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX, who will welcome a Las Vegas Grand Prix car at the entrance of the market where participants are encouraged to take photos.
In addition, Green Our Planet will host this event with support from Bank of Nevada, Cox Communications, Clark County School District, LabCorp and U.S. Bank.
The farmers market will also welcome an appearance from the Las Vegas Aviators mascot, Spruce.
EVENT LOCATION: Clark County Government Center, 500 South Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89155
