Family Promise of Las Vegas officially opened its transformational new Credit One Bank Family Navigation Center on Monday, Sept. 30, welcoming community leaders, donors and neighbors to tour the state-of-the-art resource and housing facility designed to support families experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness in Southern Nevada.
The milestone was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house that drew more than 300 attendees, including Clark County Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom, representatives from Clark County, local congregations, service providers, successful program families and longtime supporters. Guests explored the center’s 12,519-square-footcampus at 3110 E. Twain Ave., built on land donated by Clark County, and witnessed, firsthand, the power of community partnership and compassion.
“This is more than just a shelter — it’s a home,” said Martin Malmberg, director of development for Family Promise of Las Vegas, during the ceremony. “We’ve designed this space to provide not only safety and stability, but a true sense of belonging. Every family that walks through our doors is embraced with compassion, support and the tools to create a brighter future.”
The new Navigation Center features 10 fully furnished micro-apartments, each with a private entrance, accommodations for four, personal bathrooms, kitchenettes and cozy living spaces. Additional amenities include:
● Three themed full kitchens — Veggie-Wood, Bearly Friendly and Hunny Pot Cafes
● A “Yummy in My Tummy” pantry stocked with dry goods and snacks
● A Parent Resource Training and Education Center with computers, printers and smart technology
● A Children’s Learning Center filled with books and educational games
● Outdoor playgrounds, BBQ areas and gardens, including the Zen Den and Liam’s Magic Garden
● Laundry and ironing facilities, common areas, and 24/7 staff support
“This new center will allow Family Promise to continue its mission of keeping families together during times of crisis and guiding them toward lasting independence,” said Sara Mireles, Credit One Bank vice president of customer experience and Family Promise executive board member. “Addressing affordable housing and homelessness is one of Credit One Bank’s three pillars of giving, and we are proud to be part of this effort to strengthen our community.”
Construction of the Navigation Center began in June 2023 and was made possible through generous contributions from donors, grants, local congregations, service providers and private organizations. In 2024, Family Promise of Las Vegas served 788 families, totaling 2,400 individuals, with 91% of those families successfully transitioning into stable housing. With children making up 67% of its clientele, the organization continues to prioritize programs that preserve family unity and equip clients with tools for financial stability and long-term independence.
