Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®) held their third annual Holiday Shopping Spree event on December 1 at the Goodwill Las Vegas Blvd Store. The event hosted 50 children served by three local nonprofits: FEAT: Families for Effective Autism Treatment, Children’s Advocacy Alliance, and Helping Hands of Vegas Valley. Each child and their family received $100 Goodwill gift cards to shop throughout the store.
The children were greeted by Santa Claus, then paired with volunteer chaperones from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Creech Air Force Base for their shopping experience.
“This event celebrates the partnerships that help our region’s families and communities thrive,” said Rick Neal, president and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. “Every day, thousands of Southern Nevada families rely on Goodwill to help make ends meet. This tradition is our way of giving back to our neighbors and inviting partners in service to join us in bringing holiday cheer to our community.”
Each year, Goodwill hosts two holiday shopping sprees to give local children and their families a much-needed boost. In addition to the year-end event, a Christmas in July shopping experience brings mid-summer cheer to the community.
