Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®) is proud to once again partner with the Junior League of Las Vegas for their 2023 Fashion Forward fashion show event titled “Gift of Fashion” which will take place Saturday, April 29, at Zappos in downtown Las Vegas.
The fourteenth annual Fashion Forward event is one of the League’s largest fundraisers to benefit the numerous community-based programs supported by the Junior League. Fashion Forward aims to enhance the education of local design and fashion students and gives aspiring designers the chance to showcase their designs in a public setting. This year’s event will include finalists from seven Clark County School District high schools who will showcase their inspired looks at the “Gift of Fashion” event.
Goodwill of Southern Nevada provided 240 students from seven schools with $20 gift cards to purchase items from Goodwill thrift stores and repurpose them to create new fashion designs. Goodwill’s Director of Marketing and Communications Morgan Waldron will serve as one of the four judges.
“It’s an honor to partner with the Junior League of Las Vegas on this creative and exciting event,” said Waldron. “One of our main goals at Goodwill is to promote sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives, so it is truly delightful to see these aspiring designers working hard to incorporate recycled materials into their projects.”
For more than 70 years, the Junior League of Las Vegas has developed projects that have shaped our community including the Ronald McDonald House, DISCOVERY Children’s Museum, HELP of Southern Nevada, and the Shade Tree Shelter. Current projects include partnerships with Shannon West Homeless Youth Center, Three Square, and Leaders in Training. Their Education Grants project has provided more than $650,000 to teachers in Clark County schools since its inception in 1985.
