RENO, Nev – Google has announced a donation of $100,000 to Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental preservation and community beautification. The donation will go towards supporting the organization’s education programs which aim to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation.
Google’s data center in Storey County is an air-cooled data center, meaning it does not use any water for industrial purposes. This is critical for responsible and sustainable development in a water-stressed region, and is aligned with Google’s commitment to climate-conscious cooling for all of its data centers.
KTMB has been instrumental in creating programs that promote sustainable practices in the Truckee Meadows region. Their education programs are designed to reach students of all ages, from elementary to high school, teaching them about conservation, recycling, and the impact of their actions on the environment.

With Google’s financial support, KTMB will be able to expand its educational outreach to reach a wider audience. The funds will be used to develop innovative programs, provide educational resources, and organize interactive workshops and events that will engage and empower local residents to make positive environmental changes.
