Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar, located at The Village at Rancharrah, is excited to announce the launch of their new nonprofit organization, ‘Grafted Kitchen,’ aimed at providing culinary education to at-risk youth aged 15-19 years old. Owners of Grafted, Jade and Chad Bogan, are opening up a new 2,500 square foot culinary training facility on Oddie Boulevard in Sparks. The nonprofit will give these young people the opportunity to participate in a one year paid internship where they will receive culinary, business, and hospitality training.
“Our hope is that Grafted Kitchen can create a safe and supportive space for youth in our community to learn new skills and be empowered to change the trajectory of their lives,” said Jade Bogan, owner of Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar. “On top of culinary mentorship, this internship will also give wrap-around services including GED and education support, mental health support, and other needs determined by on-staff social workers.”
Grafted Kitchen embraces a set of core values guiding their mission to empower and uplift individuals in their community: Restore, Equip, Dream, Bridge, and Graft. They aim to restore dignity and purpose, provide essential skills for success, inspire bold dreams, build bridges to meaningful employment, and support growth and transitions.
Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar is hosting an informational night on June 6 at 6 p.m. to introduce the nonprofit to the community, with all proceeds supporting Grafted Kitchen’s equipment and program startup costs. For general information and tickets, visit their website at graftedkitchen.com.
