RENO, Nev. – Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) has announced their support of the University of Nevada, Reno’s Nevada Men’s Basketball program via the “Friends of the Pack” Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) collective that creates opportunities for University of Nevada student-athletes to help grow their personal brand and engage within the community. This is the second NIL initiative GSR has collaborated with Nevada following the resort’s support of the Nevada Women’s Basketball program.“Sports strengthen our communities,” said Christopher Abraham, Chief Marketing Officer of Grand Sierra Resort. “Our commitment to the basketball programs at Nevada displays GSR’s significant investment into the program’s growth and sustainability in a competitive national landscape.”
GSR is in the process of creating content with the designated student-athletes for use in a variety of marketing programs that will reach the Reno-Tahoe community, improving exposure for the men’s basketball program and GSR alike.
The NIL initiative follows the announcement of the historic $1 billion capital investment at the resort. At the heart of the plans is the construction of a new 10,000-seat, 300,000-square-foot arena with contemporary amenities, including suites and premium hospitality clubs that will serve as the home of the Wolf Pack men’s basketball team.
