RENO, Nev. – Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) has reaffirmed its dedication to the Northern Nevada community by gifting Robert Mitchell Elementary School with a Book Vending Machine valued at $5,700 and an unrestricted donation of $15,000 on Monday, Oct 30.

“We are committed to investing in the education and development of our local youth,” said Shannon Keel, GSR general manager. “To us, this is a vital investment in the future of our community. It is an honor to support Robert Mitchell Elementary in its important mission to develop and care for our precious children.”
Keel and members of the GSR Cares committee personally delivered the $15,000 donation to Robert Mitchell Elementary School Principal, Kristen Conway during the Monday morning assembly.
“Grand Sierra Resort is truly a valued Partner in Education to Robert Mitchell Elementary School. Their generosity provides opportunities for our students that they would not have otherwise, such as PE experiences and equipment, support for our soccer team, and social emotional resources. GSR funded our popular Book Vending Machine which supports our Positive Behavior Interventions System, and they provide meals for our family engagement events. We are grateful for our partnership with GSR,” said Principal Kristen Conway.
This impactful community partnership is made possible through GSR Cares, the charitable division of Grand Sierra Resort designed to support worthwhile initiatives as well as local and community-minded organizations and charities that help elevate the region and benefit those in need. The collaboration with Robert Mitchell Elementary School exemplifies GSR’s unwavering commitment to uplift the Northern Nevada community and nurture its future leaders.
