Las Vegas – Sam Ryan Heidari, owner of the Heidari Law Group is offering a 5K reward for the arrest and conviction of scam artists claiming to be representatives of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Heidari feels that the reward money he has offered now and in the past has landed tips that have led to the arrest and conviction of criminals in Las Vegas. Heidari wants to do his part in reducing crime in Las Vegas by rewarding people with information to come forward.
According to a LVMPD report, scammers are calling residents of Las Vegas around the valley telling them that they have an outstanding warrant. Victims are then told to meet at a location and pay the warrant with cash or gift cards, or are being emailed a QR code that allows the scammer to be paid directly.
Sam Ryan Heidari wants to let residents of Las Vegas know that the LVMPD does not issue warrants over the phone and will never contact a person asking for payment over the phone or through a QR code.
“If you receive a spam call like this, hang up immediately.”
If you have been a victim of a phone or online scam please go to IC3.gov and file a report.
