Helix Electric, LLC, an award-winning electrical contractor that specializes in design-build and highly complex electrical projects, joined forces with Northern Nevada HOPES, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department, Eddy House, Good Shepherds Clothes Closet, Our Center, Kimmie Candy, About Town Deb, Digiprint and 4th Street Brewery & Coffee Bar to bring warmth and joy to Reno’s unsheltered population.
On November 25, the “Helix Helping Hands – “Sweets & Treats” event converted the 4th Street Brewery & Coffee Bar into a welcoming space for the community to enjoy holiday treats, collect essential winter supplies, and access valuable resources. The event provided attendees from the Cares Campus and Reno’s unsheltered community with coffee, cider, pie, music, and a variety of winter necessities, such as jackets, sweaters, gloves, socks, handwarmers and more. Resource tables staffed by partner organizations ensured guests felt supported and informed about local programs, with each organization playing a pivotal role in delivering hope and support during the holiday season.
“This is our second year hosting this event, and we knew we had to bring it back after seeing the tremendous success and impact of the inaugural effort,” said Victor Fuchs, president and CEO of Helix Electric, LLC. “Last year showed us just how meaningful it is when the community shows up for one another, and it inspired us to do even more. Our team and partners poured their hearts into this event because we believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and cared for, especially during the holidays. It’s an honor to continue building on this momentum and to stand alongside organizations that share our commitment to lifting Reno’s unsheltered community.”
This year’s event reinforced the growing collaboration among local organizations, volunteers, and community leaders committed to helping Reno’s unsheltered population. Attendees received essential winter supplies, warm meals, and access to supportive resources in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. As the initiative continues to expand, Helix and its partners remain dedicated to strengthening these efforts, fostering dignity, and creating meaningful pathways of support for those facing the challenges of housing insecurity.
