On Saturday, Nov. 23, HELP of Southern Nevada partnered with Junior League of Las Vegas for their annual Done in a Day volunteer event, where Junior League packed up nearly 2,300 food bags donated by more than 73 CCSD schools, local businesses and individuals.
Over the weekend, HELP of Southern Nevada’s Turkey-Thon, sponsored by 97.1 FM The Point, Lotus Broadcasting and Smith’s Food & Drug collected donations of frozen turkeys, non-perishable food items and financial donations to benefit Las Vegas families in need this Thanksgiving holiday. With the help of Southern Glaziers Wine, Spirits and Beers, the turkeys were kept frozen with the significant donation of a refrigerated turkey truck.
“HELP of Southern Nevada help breaks down any type of barrier our clients face so they can become self-sufficient – that includes having a holiday meal. We want to make sure that anyone who is going through a difficult time doesn’t have to forgo their family traditions for Thanksgiving,” said Abby Quinn, Community Relations Officer at HELP of Southern Nevada. “The unwavering support of the local community, our partners and volunteers are the reason we were able to provide a frozen turkey and groceries to 1,000 families in need. We are so grateful to our continued supporters for their dedication to our cause.”
