The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of the State of Nevada’s Division of Industrial Relations recognizes the Henderson Executive Airport, one of five aviation facilities owned and operated by the Clark County Department of Aviation, for its first Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) designation.
“Earning the SHARP recognition marks a significant milestone, as Henderson Executive Airport is the first airport to achieve this distinction,” said James C. Chrisley, Clark County Director of Aviation. “This accomplishment reaffirms our commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy workplace and fostering an environment built on the highest standards. I am proud of what the team has accomplished and look forward to continuing the same focus and collaboration throughout our entire airport system.”
Henderson Executive Airport has joined the ranks of an elite group of businesses that have achieved SHARP status by maintaining exemplary health and safety standards. Participation in the no-cost program provides incentives and support to employers to develop, implement and continuously improve programs at their worksite(s). By taking these proactive measures, businesses can reduce accident costs and ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) regulations.
“Henderson Executive Airport’s SHARP designation distinguishes the organization as an industry leader in workplace safety,” said Todd Schultz, Chief Administrative Officer for SCATS. “This recognition is the culmination of more than a year of dedicated collaboration between their team and SCATS, and we are excited to see their continued pursuit of safety excellence.”
SCATS consultants provide employers with confidential hazard identification, program development, implementation assistance and training. Employers who implement effective safety programs and have a days-away restricted transfer (DART) rate below the national average for their industry may be recognized by SCATS. Successful SHARP participants may receive up to a three-year deferral from OSHA’s general schedule inspections.
