The Henderson Symphony Orchestra (HSO) is pleased to welcome guest harpist Yvonne Cox to perform in its upcoming concert WOW! The performance will take place Friday February 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, which is located at 675 E Dale in Henderson.
Yvonne Cox will be highlighted as this concert’s superhero taking on the role of “Harp Girl”, playing Ginastera’s Harp Concerto. The performance will end with one of Tchaikovsky’s most iconic works, Symphony No. 5.
“We are so excited to have Yvonne joining us for this performance,” said Alexandra Arrieche, Henderson Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director. “This season we want to highlight talented musicians and transform them into superheroes because we feel they deserved to be praised for the sacrifice and dedication they put into their craft.”
Cox has performed with orchestras throughout the United States including the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, many ensembles at the University of Arizona and the ensembles at the New England Conservatory.
The Henderson Symphony Orchestra is the Silver State’s only community symphony orchestra and has been performing for 35 seasons delivering on its mission to promote Classical Music appreciation and education to a varied and diverse audience, and to elevate the southern Nevada art scene.
There will be three more free concerts before this season comes to an end in June.
