Inaugural Reno Startup Week Event Kicks Off Monday
Nevada Gov. Lombardo Recognizes Significance of Entrepreneurial Event
RENO, Nev. (Sept. 20, 2023) – On track to be the largest community business event ever in Northern Nevada, Reno Startup Week kicks off this Monday, Sept. 25. Reno Startup Week is a community-driven event dedicated to bringing together founders, innovators, dreamers, makers, and business owners for a week-long celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit in Northern Nevada.
The event features three main receptions, over 40 educational workshops, more than 50 guest speakers and numerous networking opportunities throughout the community.
Along with more than 20 organizations, the team at the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) has built a full schedule of networking and programming designed to assist local business leaders ranging from seed stage to growth and expansion stage businesses.
The event boasts workshops, panel discussions, mentoring, dedicated time for one-on-one conversations and three separate tracks designed to assist entrepreneurs at every level. There is also a health and wellness track designed specifically for the high-paced life of entrepreneurs. The five-day event will help business and thought leaders navigate the Nevada Secretary of State’s Silverflume system, explore venture capital and resources, help individuals learn about marketing and brand storytelling, recognize BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) inclusivity, and scale up development.
In a gubernatorial proclamation declaring Reno Startup Week Sept 25-29, Gov. Joe Lombardo notes Reno as the heartbeat of entrepreneurship in Northern Nevada and that the State of Nevada applauds and encourages the risk-takers, drivers and entrepreneurs that fuel business.
EDAWN CEO Taylor Adams sees the inaugural Reno Startup Week as a way to ignite the imaginations of budding entrepreneurs and guide others through myriad business processes. “The business innovation, creativity and talent in our community is astounding,” Adams said. “Reno Startup Week is a unique way to converge and build upon that spirit to further ideas into implementation and help existing companies grow and scale.”
