Jewish Nevada, the representative organization for the more than 70,000 Jews across the state, announced it has named Lisa Bassewitz as its new board chair. In this role, Bassewitz will lead efforts to strengthen community engagement, expand philanthropic initiatives and advance the organization’s mission of supporting and advocating for Jewish communities throughout Nevada.
Bassewitz has six years of experience on Jewish Nevada’s board, previously serving as Allocations co-chair. She has also served as chair for several other organizations, including the Jewish Family Services Agency and the Women’s Philanthropy Council. She has been a part of the Women’s Philanthropy Council for 12 years.
“Lisa has been a dedicated leader within our community for many years, and her deep understanding of Jewish Nevada’s mission makes her exceptionally well-suited for this role,” said Stefanie Tuzman, president and CEO of Jewish Nevada. “Her passion and support will help guide Jewish Nevada into an exciting new chapter.”

In addition to her many leadership roles, Bassewitz also has a strong background in finance and longstanding commitment to community service. As board chair, Bassewitz aims to build on Jewish Nevada’s strong foundation and continue to sustain vibrant Jewish life throughout Nevada, Israel and around the world.
