Jewish Nevada, a non-profit organization that serves as the representative organization for the more than 70,000 Jews in Nevada, hosted its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14 to announce new board members and install new board chair Lisa Bassewitz. Keynote speaker and professor Dr. Steven Windmueller was in attendance to give remarks, expressing support to the Jewish community and addressing concerns of growing antisemitism.
During the event, Jewish Nevada announced that its annual campaign received $4,653,294 from more than 2,400 donors in 2025. Funds from this campaign have gone towards building and sustaining Jewish life in Nevada through various programming, supporting local organizations, providing emergency support for partners on the ground in Israel, and more.
“Our annual meeting is a time for us not only to say ‘thank you’ to our community, staff, and board members but also to look back on the events that occurred over the past year. With the rise in antisemitism locally and internationally, it is more important than ever for our Jewish communities to feel supported, safe and secure,” said Jewish Nevada President and CEO Stefanie Tuzman. “Our community’s strength and resilience have shone the brightest in these dark moments of hardship, and as we look forward to the next year, Jewish Nevada will continue to build up Jewish life, fight against hate, and protect our community.”
Jewish Nevada also recognized the organization’s extensive community impact in 2025. Throughout the year, it provided grants to local agencies of up to $20,000. These dollars provide regular food deliveries to needy communities, diapers to more than 300 families, social events for adults with autism, and affordable housing for veterans. The organization has also granted more than $1.7 million to Jewish preschools, day schools, summer camps, synagogues, and social services agencies. It has other programs that help care for the sick or elderly, teach youth, and help fight antisemitism.
