The JPMorgan Chase Foundation has made a $155,000 investment in the Nevada Housing Coalition (NHC) to support of its ElevateNV Affordable Housing Capacity Building Initiative launched in 2022.
The JPMorgan Chase Foundation is committed to fostering strong communities through support of vital institutions and creating access to affordable housing and homeownership. The funding will support NHC’s programming to advance the production and preservation of affordable housing in Clark County, Nevada, through organizational and systems capacity-building.
According to the 2023 Affordable Housing Inventory Report, there continues to be a deficit of nearly 200,000 affordable units in the Las Vegas – Clark County Metro Region. The National Low Income Housing Coalition reports gaps in inventory for renters from 0 to 100% area median income with Nevada being the worst in the nation for renters below 50% area median income.
With the support of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, NHC will engage with affordable housing stakeholders to determine and monitor capacity needs with a primary focus on the production and preservation of housing that serves low- to moderate-income Nevadans. This approach will include multiple convenings to foster collaboration across the affordable housing ecosystem and build shared understanding of relevant issues. NHC will also provide education and training to strategically grow capacity across the industry through cross-sector working groups, technical assistance, skill-sharing, and various webinars and workshops.
