Las Vegas, NV – This holiday season, Olive Crest and the Las Vegas community came together to meet urgent needs and create pathways for lasting change for families in crisis. Through a series of events and initiatives, as well as generous community partnerships, Olive Crest provided tangible support while building bridges of trust that help families connect with deeper resources to address the root causes of instability.
Highlights of this year’s holiday outreach include:
- Over 1,400 holiday meal boxes given to families, each filled with food essentials and a handwritten note of encouragement. These boxes reached families served by Olive Crest and were shared with partners like Foster Kinship, Jeremiah Program, Signs of Hope, and others to extend the impact even further.
- More than 3,000 toys distributed so children could experience the joy of gifts under the tree—thanks to generous toy drives led by the Las Vegas Raiders, Lennar, The Crossing Church, and countless individuals, businesses, schools, and churches.
- A festive Holiday Party for kids and families, funded by the Vegas Golden Knights with doughnuts provided by PinkBox to help families experience the magic of the season.
- Four Holiday Shoppes, hosted by church partners like Shadow Hills and Liberty Baptist, where parents could “shop” for free gifts for their children, restoring dignity and hope during the season.
These efforts were made possible by a remarkable outpouring of community support. Groups like City Light Church, Candil Hall, and many others collected items for meal boxes, while partners such as the Public Education Foundation, Project Marilyn, and Prevent Child Trafficking Nevada provided additional items for families.
“Every meal box, every toy, every event was more than a gift—it was an opportunity to show families they are not alone,” said Jimmy Monaghan, Olive Crest Executive Director. “When families feel supported and valued, they are more likely to reach out for help that can transform their lives.”
