The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation (Library Foundation) has received a $200,000 grant from the James M. Cox Foundation, the charitable arm of Cox Enterprises, parent company of Cox Communications, and named after the company’s founder.
The grant supports the development of a Creation Lab at the West Las Vegas Library (1861 N. Martin Luther Blvd.), just north of Cox’s Las Vegas headquarters at 1700 Vegas Drive. The lab will feature technology and programming to encourage creativity and support a variety of learning opportunities to build foundational workforce skills and provide additional connectivity for West Las Vegas residents who lack internet access.
A ceremonial check was presented during the July 9 meeting of The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Board of Trustees.

Cox Foundation for this generous investment in the future of early literacy and job skills training at the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District,” said Kelvin Watson, executive director of the Library District. “This grant will help to build foundations of learning for years to come.”
