LAS VEGAS – Ryan Calahan, PE, LEED AP, has been selected among the country’s top building, design and construction professionals under the age of 40 in the prestigious Building Design+Construction 2019 “40 Under 40”. Calahan is a principal with FEA Consulting Engineers, which BD+C also selected as the 7th largest hotel engineering firm in the country for the second year in a row this year.
Calahan is the only Nevada professional named by BD+C in this year’s 40 Under 40. “I’m honored to be recognized among some of the country’s top young professionals in the construction and design industries,” said Calahan. “They are leaders in their businesses and communities, bringing innovative and unique ideas to industries ranging from design and architecture to engineering and development.”
Named the “Engineering Virtuoso” of the 2019 class, BD+C recognized Calahan’s involvement in the engineering of more than 30,000 hotel rooms and the engineering of the world’s first LEED Gold certified casino with Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Calahan was also recognized for his charitable outreach in Southern Nevada and beyond the U.S., including his work with the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Southern Nevada Board of Governors and its recent humanitarian trip to Guatemala to install solar light and electricity kits in rural homes.
